I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Word Guild for honouring Priests in the Attic at the Canadian Christian Writing Awards. My memoir was conceived and written on wings of reverie and prayer. As such, it describes the conflict between spiritual longing and worldly desires. In this way it is everyone's story as we all fight the temptations of a crass secular world gone mad with distractions designed to lure us away from God and His distinct plan for each of us here on earth.

Priests in the Attic's generic message of God's saving grace is available at all of the regional libraries and Barnes &Noble book stores in South West Florida; it  is on the data base of Chapters and other book stores here in Canada. As such, God's word of salvation has been available to many in the General Readership Category.

Thank you for your wonderful work in promoting God's promise through Canadian writers…and thank you again for allowing me to be part of your world.Yes indeed, we are "all in this together…with Him."

Sincerely,
Elaine a. Small

Dorene Meyer would like to let everyone to know about the launch of her new book, Lewis, the second book in a series that chronicles the healing journey of seven young people in the fictional First Nations community of Rabbit Lake. The second step in the healing journey is to “tell our story” to a trustworthy friend or counselor.
Grant Park in the Atrium, Winnipeg, MB, at 7 p.m.
Lewis Littledeer struggles alone as a single father, unable to understand why his wife, Starla, has left him again to sell her body and soul on the streets of Winnipeg as a sex trade worker. What is it that keeps driving her away from a loving husband and the care and support of her home community?
Marcy Kennedy, reviewer for Maranatha News
“I read Lewis in one day, anxious to find out what it would take to mend the broken hearts and broken relationships in this young family. Entwined throughout the story is a message that everyone needs to hear–the path to emotional healing is hard, but for those with the courage to tell their stories and ask for help, it is possible."
Rev. Shona Stewart, Founder/Executive Director for Setting the Captives Free Ministries.

"This fiction novel could easily be many Aboriginal women’s true to life stories. The author has captured one of the most prevalent issues for Aboriginal women (sexual abuse), and shows her heart to want them to come out and tell their stories. When I counseled many Aboriginal women in the sex trade, they had similar stories to tell. Interspersed in the story is another story, one of the Gospel message. I will definitely have a copy of this book available for the women to whom I will be serving."
Dorene will be reading an excerpt from Lewis, with a book signing and refreshments to follow.
